Steam, Rain, and Soil Health: Preparing for Durango

Steam, Rain, and Soil Health: Preparing for Durango

If you've ever wondered what goes into a bag of EcoFleece, the days leading up to the MAVWA Fiber and Arts Festival paint the perfect picture.

Right before heading up to Durango, the monsoon rains rolled in. The humidity was absolutely perfect for pelleting wool, and if you were standing in the mill with us, you could see the steam rising straight off the equipment. After a couple of hours of hard work, the rain really started coming down, cooling things off just in time for us to pack up for the festival.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do at Laughing Goat Gardens. Turning raw sheep wool into our EcoFleece natural soil optimizer is a labor of love. We take what is often considered farm waste and transform it into a powerful, eco-friendly fertilizer that heals the earth.

When you mix EcoFleece into your soil, you aren't just feeding your plants; you are building healthy, living soil with regenerative agriculture. Those pellets are hard at work beneath the surface—aerating the soil so roots can stretch, holding onto water so you can water less frequently, and slowly releasing natural nutrients to keep your plants thriving all season long. It even acts as a natural insect deterrent to keep your garden safe!

We loved bringing the fruits of our labor to Durango this past weekend. If you missed us at MAVWA, don't worry! Check out our events calendar to see where we'll be next, or grab a bag right here on the website.
